When you relax 'This', you start to see 'That' - from a state of stable inner calmness and equanimity.

True Connection starts with making contact, and making contact is about stabilizing your expanding awareness and receptivity. The emphasis is on getting to a state of true receptivity. In these 3 days you surrender to 'that' and you don't give in to the tense 'this': 'what 'I want & what I don't want'. You allow yourself to dissolve your mental projections, your feelings about what you want and don't want, and your thoughts about what you know.

Dissolving the push and pull, and wearing out habits, opinions and beliefs is relaxing 'This'.

When you relax 'this' - 'I want', it is possible for you to break through the barrier which consists of what you know and what you think about your see. The dissovling and relaxing creates space within where you can experience things as they are.

When you see things as they are, you discover 'THAT'. 'That' is the ever-present presence, that is always and already there. 'THAT' can literally be anything; sand-ness, tree-ness, person-ness, hair-ness, water-ness. You begin to see and feel the richness of visual qualities, the nature of your perceptions.

True perception, true connection and deep, unbridled seeing is on the other side of hot boredom.

Let your tender heart speak instead of giving in to restlessness and boredom. No matter where you are, when you feel you have seen it all, instead of detaching yourself from resistance and avoiding the discomfort there is a quality of waiting, forcing yourself to just stay with it and stay with yourself until you give up wanting anything special or entertaining. You give up your interest in the highlights. The invitation for you here is to become open and raw. You give up your ideas and beliefs about your favorite version of the world and let your tender heart speak.

Mindful Photography
Mindfulness and photography come together nicely here. I found it special to experience that it doesn't matter so much where you are, but that there are fresh observations everywhere that can be converted into a beautiful picture. In addition, it is nice to experience that if it doesn't work out, I can calmly let go. There are truly infinite observations.

Seeing from my Heart
It was a great experience to perceive reality in a different way with "Miksang", to be guided by what stops me, touches me, then to experience that intensely before I grab the camera and see the image or impression capture. I have found the effect of the visual exercises on “seeing” surprising and valuable.

With Fresh Eyes
Photographing without having started my stream of thoughts about the why, what I think of it and how I can make a nice picture of it. A special experience of relaxation and experiencing the beauty of everyday things around me. Not only looking, but also really seeing with a fresh eye.

Relax into reality

"If you are able to relax—relax to a cloud by looking at it, relax to a drop of rain and experience its genuineness—you can see the unconditionality of reality, which remains very simply in things as they are, very simply. When you are able to look at things without saying, “This is for me or against me, I can go along with this”, or “I cannot go along with this,” then you are experiencing a state of wisdom.

You may see a fly buzzing: you may see a snowflake; you may see ripples of water; you may see a black widow spider. You may see anything, but you can actually look at all of those things with simple and ordinary, but appreciative, perception! There are sights and colors that you have never seen. There are feelings that you have never experienced before. There are endless fields of perception."
